“LOS ÁNGELES AZULES SQUARE” LLEGA A PANORAMA CITY
Este septiembre, la Ciudad de Los Ángeles rendirá homenaje a una de las agrupaciones de cumbia más icónicas e influyentes del mundo con la inauguración de “Los Ángeles Azules Square” en el corazón de Panorama City.
La Concejal Imelda Padilla, del Distrito 6, encabezará esta gran celebración comunitaria en la que se nombrará oficialmente la intersección de Van Nuys Boulevard y Chase Street en honor a Los Ángeles Azules, reconociendo sus décadas de trayectoria, su extraordinaria influencia musical y su contribución a la cultura latina alrededor del mundo.

La celebración reunirá a Los Ángeles Azules, la Concejal Imelda Padilla, la Alcaldesa Karen Bass, líderes comunitarios y residentes para vivir una mañana inolvidable llena de música, cultura y orgullo latino.
El programa incluirá la inauguración oficial de Los Ángeles Azules Square, un recorrido por Plaza del Valle, una ceremonia especial en la que los integrantes de la agrupación plasmarán sus manos en cemento, reconocimientos y presentaciones especiales.
Originarios de Iztapalapa, México, Los Ángeles Azules han llevado la cumbia a escenarios de todo el mundo, conectando a distintas generaciones y convirtiendo su inconfundible sonido en parte esencial de la música y la cultura latina.
Esta histórica dedicación se realiza en el marco de las celebraciones del Mes de la Herencia Latina/Hispana, reconociendo las contribuciones de la comunidad latina a la cultura, historia e identidad de Los Ángeles.

SOBRE LOS ÁNGELES AZULES
Originarios de Iztapalapa, Ciudad de México, Los Ángeles Azules son una de las agrupaciones más importantes y reconocidas de la cumbia a nivel internacional. Con más de cuatro décadas de trayectoria, han llevado su inconfundible cumbia sonidera a escenarios de todo el mundo, conquistando a distintas generaciones y convirtiéndose en un verdadero referente de la música y la cultura latina.
Su impacto continúa más vigente que nunca. Recientemente, Los Ángeles Azules fueron parte de la celebración inaugural de la Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2026 en la Ciudad de México, donde compartieron escenario con Belinda ante una audiencia internacional, llevando una vez más el sonido de la cumbia mexicana a uno de los escenarios más importantes del mundo. Como parte de su gira Cumbia Sin Fronteras US Tour, la agrupación también regresará al sur de California este 5 de septiembre con una presentación en el F&M Bank Amphitheater de Long Beach, pocos días antes de recibir este histórico reconocimiento en Panorama City.

“LOS ÁNGELES AZULES SQUARE” COMES TO PANORAMA CITY
This September, the City of Los Angeles will honor one of the world’s most iconic and influential cumbia groups with the dedication of “Los Ángeles Azules Square” in the heart of Panorama City.
Councilmember Imelda Padilla, representing Council District 6, will lead this special community celebration, officially naming the intersection of Van Nuys Boulevard and Chase Street in honor of Los Ángeles Azules, recognizing their decades-long career, extraordinary musical influence, and contributions to Latino culture around the world.
The celebration will bring together Los Ángeles Azules, Councilmember Imelda Padilla, Mayor Karen Bass, community leaders, and residents for an unforgettable morning filled with music, culture, and Latino pride.
The program will include the official unveiling of Los Ángeles Azules Square, a walk through Plaza del Valle, a special ceremony where the band members will leave their handprints in cement, as well as special recognitions and presentations.
Originally from Iztapalapa, Mexico, Los Ángeles Azules have brought cumbia to stages around the world, connecting generations and making their unmistakable sound an essential part of Latin music and culture.
This historic dedication takes place as part of Latino/Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, recognizing the contributions of the Latino community to the culture, history, and identity of Los Angeles.

ABOUT LOS ÁNGELES AZULES
Originally from Iztapalapa, Mexico City, Los Ángeles Azules are one of the most important and internationally recognized cumbia groups. With more than four decades of music, they have brought their unmistakable cumbia sonidera sound to stages around the world, captivating generations of fans and becoming a true icon of Latin music and culture.
Their impact is as strong as ever. Most recently, Los Ángeles Azules took part in the opening celebration of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico City, sharing the stage with Belinda before an international audience and once again bringing the sound of Mexican cumbia to one of the world’s biggest stages. As part of their Cumbia Sin Fronteras US Tour, the group will also return to Southern California on September 5 for a performance at the F&M Bank Amphitheater in Long Beach, just days before receiving this historic recognition in Panorama City.
