Construyamos esperanza sobre tierra firme, no sobre el miedo
Después de un terremoto, reconstruir no significa volver a levantar las mismas paredes en los mismos lugares. Significa construir con inteligencia, prevención y amor por la vida. Es momento de evaluar, con base en estudios científicos y geotécnicos, la reubicación de las familias que habitan en zonas de alto riesgo hacia nuevas ciudades planificadas, con todos los servicios esenciales y viviendas diseñadas con tecnologías modernas de construcción antisísmica. Sistemas modulares prefabricados, ensamblables y de rápida instalación permiten reducir tiempos de construcción, mejorar el control de calidad y ofrecer estructuras concebidas para un mejor desempeño ante movimientos sísmicos. Como nos enseña la Palabra de Dios: «Con sabiduría se edificará la casa, y con prudencia se afirmará.» (Proverbios 24:3).
La verdadera Conciencia Ciudadana nos invita a mirar hacia el futuro. Formemos a los propios sobrevivientes en nuevas técnicas constructivas para que sean protagonistas de la reconstrucción de sus comunidades, generando empleo digno y fortaleciendo la economía local. Exhortamos a los Colegios de Ingenieros de Venezuela, universidades, arquitectos, especialistas en sismorresistencia y autoridades competentes a estudiar y adaptar materiales innovadores, sistemas industrializados, módulos estructurales de alta precisión y métodos constructivos que permitan levantar, en menor tiempo, viviendas seguras, sostenibles y comunidades resilientes. Que esta tragedia nos impulse a construir un país donde la seguridad de las familias sea siempre la primera obra.
Let us build hope on solid ground, not on fear
After an earthquake, rebuilding does not simply mean raising the same walls in the same places. It means building with wisdom, prevention, and a deep commitment to protecting human life. This is the time to evaluate, based on scientific and geotechnical studies, the relocation of families living in high-risk areas to newly planned communities with essential public services and homes built using modern earthquake-resistant construction technologies. Modular, prefabricated, interlocking building systems and other innovative structural methods can significantly reduce construction time, improve quality control, and provide buildings designed to perform better during seismic events. As the Word of God reminds us: “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established.” (Proverbs 24:3).
True Citizen Awareness calls us to look beyond the emergency and build a safer future. Let us train earthquake survivors in modern construction techniques so they can become active participants in rebuilding their own communities, creating dignified jobs while strengthening the local economy. We encourage the Engineering Associations of Venezuela, universities, architects, structural engineers, seismic design specialists, and public authorities to study, evaluate, and adapt innovative construction materials, industrialized building systems, precision-engineered structural modules, and resilient construction methods capable of delivering safe, sustainable homes and well-planned communities in a shorter time. May this tragedy inspire us to build a nation where the safety, dignity, and future of every family become our greatest foundation.
