Fase 3: Sanar el cuerpo, restaurar el corazón y renovar la esperanza
Hoy, antes que nada, damos gracias a Dios por el milagro del don de la vida y por cada vida que pudo ser rescatada. Con profunda gratitud reconocemos la entrega incansable de médicos, enfermeros, psicólogos, rescatistas, voluntarios, iglesias y líderes espirituales que, con sus manos, sus conocimientos, sus oraciones y su amor al prójimo, han sido instrumentos de consuelo y esperanza para quienes sufren. Después de un terremoto no solo quedan heridas visibles; también permanecen el miedo, el duelo y el dolor del alma. Por ello, la recuperación de la salud física, emocional y espiritual debe mantenerse con programas permanentes durante, al menos, un año, acompañando de manera cercana a cada víctima directa mediante un registro confiable que permita brindar atención oportuna y continua. La verdadera Conciencia Ciudadana se expresa cuando una sociedad cuida integralmente a sus sobrevivientes, sin olvidar a nadie, uniendo ciencia, solidaridad y fe para que cada corazón vuelva a levantarse. Porque la Palabra de Dios nos recuerda: «Él sana a los quebrantados de corazón, y venda sus heridas.» (Salmos 147:3).
Phase 3: Healing the body, restoring the heart, and renewing hope
Today, above all, we give thanks to God for the precious gift of life and for every life that was saved. With heartfelt gratitude, we honor the tireless dedication of doctors, nurses, psychologists, rescue workers, volunteers, churches, pastors, priests, and spiritual leaders who, through their hands, their knowledge, their prayers, and their love for others, have become instruments of comfort and hope for those who suffer. After an earthquake, the wounds are not only physical; fear, grief, and emotional pain often remain long after the disaster has passed. For this reason, the recovery of physical, emotional, and spiritual health must continue through comprehensive support programs lasting at least one year, ensuring that every direct victim receives ongoing, compassionate care through a reliable registry that allows assistance to reach those who truly need it. True Citizen Awareness is demonstrated when a society chooses not to leave anyone behind, bringing together science, solidarity, and faith so that every life can heal and every heart can rise again. As the Holy Scriptures remind us: “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3).
