Whether it’s with the «gang» of Edmundo González and María Corina, or with a temporary civilian-military provisional governing junta, the day after in Venezuela is going to be very complicated.
There are no magicians there, much less professional fixers who can re-establish the country’s institutions in the blink of an eye. Not even anyone can organize free elections; elections that, for the first time in 25 years, would be truly fair, clean, and democratic—and I mean truly democratic. Nothing!
Let’s not deceive ourselves: we will inherit a country in ruins, and the Venezuelan people, both those inside the country and the millions abroad, will be in virtually the same dire circumstances. Not only is an urgent and immediate subsidy necessary for all those living within the country, but we are also obligated to patiently monitor the actions that whoever ends up in power decides to take.
For example: the issue of the country’s gigantic external debt. This matter requires immediate attention. The enormous debt incurred with the Russians and Chinese has served as a means for plunder by Chavistas and Maduro supporters, «supposedly» authorized by a National Assembly of the narco-regime that has been subservient to a thieving executive for years.
And so, Venezuela is supposed to close its eyes, not investigate, and simply hand over the gold, uranium, coltan, rare earth minerals, diamonds, etc.? Then, how is the sheath?
With regard to all of the above, it cannot be the same, in relation to those real debts, caused by the countless confiscations that the regime has carried out for years, which have been nothing more than armed robberies against the owners of everything they have seized.
Let’s be clear; the infamous «expropriation» without compensating the legitimate owner is an act of land piracy, practiced by Hugo Chávez and the rest of his cronies, common thieves. In that sense, there is indeed a huge debt to be paid to the hundreds of people affected by the thuggish actions of the intergalactic leader and his gang, a debt that must be honored.
Or does anyone really believe that any even moderately serious businessman or country would even consider doing business with our nation again, when conditions of «stolen property» still persist regarding hundreds and hundreds of assets belonging to their citizens, for which no one has ever received even the slightest explanation, much less any compensation? Whether we like it or not, Donald Trump is right.
But it’s not just what those thugs have stolen from so many individuals and companies in the country and the rest of the world, related to the oil sector. They also stole the factories that produced Deviled Ham de Underwood (popular Venezuelan snack), Corn Flakes, glass products, the factories that assembled the five car models that were once manufactured in the country, and many more plots of land, warehouses, buildings, and thriving businesses.
Everything they liked or that caught the attention of the toll collectors of the political regime while they claimed that being rich is bad.
In this regard, the Liberator Parliament, through its finance committee chaired by Patricia Carnevali, and with the advice of expert economist Dr. Carlos Rangel, is compiling information, evidence, figures, and details regarding the several million dollars that those criminals stole live on air, through the utterly boring television programs of the main gangster. And they have to pay!
Then, to borrow again to get the economy working, to do the hundreds of things the country needs the day after, to maximize all of Venezuela’s resources, WE MUST PAY! We must honor commitment based on the law.
However, this is what REALLY happened! In 1903, they came to collect by force. Almost everything they claimed was false. Germans, English, and Italians came to collect the debt from the War of Independence, the railway debt, and the so-called diplomatic debt. The amount presented by the creditors was 351 million bolivars. But the Venezuelan commission, chaired by Dr. González Pacheco, demonstrated that the actual amount was 151 million bolivars, which had already been paid. In 1930, General Juan Vicente Gómez, in homage to the Liberator, paid the last bolivar.
Because of the disasters, setbacks, and robberies carried out by so many armed groups, so many bandits, and so many unstable regimes that the poor Venezuelan people had to suffer throughout the 19th century.
We acknowledge the collaboration of the United States in promoting these protocols. The Americans intervened on behalf of the Republic of Venezuela, clarifying and reducing the debts by more than half of what those who had blockaded our coasts were originally demanding. This was the true amount the country owed! That’s why we have to be very careful, because there are many swindlers out there. And that’s been proven!
